Farm & Fleet to open Rockton store
JANESVILLE Blain's Farm & Fleet has bought land in Rockton, Ill., for the 35th store in its chain.
The new store will be at the intersection of Rockton Road and Quail Trail in the village.
Officials said the new store will allow Blain's Farm & Fleet to further expand service to the greater Rockford area. Blain's now has Illinois stores in Rockford, Loves Park and Belvidere.
The Farm & Fleet retail stores are owned by individual corporations and are not subsidiaries of Blain Supply.
Founded in 1955, Blain's Farm & Fleet stores are family owned specialty discount retailers with locations in Wisconsin, Illinois and Iowa.
In Janesville, Blain's is nearing completion on 122,000-square-foot warehouse/distribution center addition at its Racine Street headquarters.
In addition, the Farm & Fleet on Stoughton Road in Madison is undergoing an 18,000-square-foot building addition and an interior and exterior renovation.
That project, along with the one in Janesville, is being done by Design Structures, a commercial and industrial design-build construction firm with offices in Middleton and The Dalles, Ore.

First off I hope the gazette runs a really do of this story!! It is horribly written with facts that are not compleatly true.
Second do you know anything about farm and fleet? Clothing does not bring in the most in sales.
Lastly since when did Blaine's start funding political campaigns?!

Simon-Can you prove that Blain's contributed to Walker's campaign? If so, my family and I will no longer shop there!

The janesville store. No tire chains. The inner tubes for tires are all limited and cheap junk. They offer very little hydraulic parts and supplies. If you have any industrial needs, farming needs, or fleet needs... its extremely limited compared to 20 years ago. They are now just another department store...Just like the other half dozen around. Menards has more to offer in almost every department....except clothes...lol. Which makes up for like 75% of F&F. ...amazing.

That's just fantastic. I'm so sick of people finding something to complain about in everything. Here's a feel-good story about a local business, one of the few that is strong and employing good Janesville people, and people choose to come and badmouth the company. Love the doom and gloom.
I personally have had nothing but good experiences shopping at Blain's. My lawnmower, snowblower, car batteries, etc. - never had a problem. Keep going Farm & Fleet!

What store are you talking about Sigma? You must be standing in Wal-Mart based on your clueless comments. It seems to me that they are a great local company willing to bump heads with the big national chains while providing a lot of jobs here in Janesville and other communities.

And... guess where most of that cheap junk is now primarily being made? Most likely at the expense of USA jobs.

I wonder if it will be 75% clothes like the one in Janesville? This place has gone so far down hill since the son took over a few years back. They dont carry half the stuff they used to. And a lot of the actual farming and fleet items is cheap junk.

Um I hope that was just bad wording. Farm and Fleet has a total of 16 stores in Illinois. not just in Rockford, loves park and Belvidere. Its not proper advertising to say those are the 3 locations and not list the rest.
