Special patrol nets marijuana Monday

— Marijuana and drug paraphernalia were seized Monday during a special drug and traffic patrol in the Janesville area.

The Janesville Police Department Street Crimes Unit and Rock County Sheriff's Office patrolled from 3 to 11 p.m. to focus on traffic safety and drug trafficking, according to a Janesville Police Department news release.

The patrol focused on the Highway 11 bypass, Afton Road, Highway 51 and Center Avenue, according to the police department.

Officers and deputies made 23 traffic stops and issued 12 citations, according to the police department. About 30 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and synthetic marijuana were seized.
