— The Lincoln Tallman House has had several doors restored, thanks to a grant from the Janesville Monterey Questers.

Monterey Questers applied to International Questers and received a grant of $4,500. The local group also provided an additional $500 needed to complete the project.

Two doors leading into the solarium, the original front door on the south side of the house and the door leading into the hallway next to it were dried, weathered and cracked. Ron Sutterlin of Sutterlin Restorations restored the doors.

The Monterey Questers chose the project because of the historic significance of the Lincoln Tallman House. It is considered one of the finest house museums in the United States and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970.

Questers International is dedicated to the research and study of antiques and collectables, and the restoration and preservation of significant artifacts, buildings and memorials.
