— The Janesville man suspected of killing two people in an alcohol-related crash was arrested Wednesday after two days on the lam from a Madison hospital.

Omar Tavizon Ramos, 21, of Janesville was arrested at 2:48 p.m. after police received a tip that he was in an apartment on North Parker Drive, Detective Michael Duerr said.

“It’s a relief to the victims’ family,” he said. “It’s nice that he is in custody, and now he will go through the court process.”

The Rock County District Attorney’s Office charged Ramos with two counts of felony homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and one count of felony injury by intoxicated use of a vehicle.

Ramos was taken to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center to have his injured leg checked, Duerr said. He will be taken to the Rock County Jail after his release.

“He is being guarded by a uniformed police officer,” Duerr said.

Ramos is accused of killing Jeffery S. Bauer, 19, of Janesville and his grandmother, Margaret Worden, 61, of Janesville after a crash Easter morning at Racine Street and Center Avenue.
