— A lighted parade, pork chops, live music and Santa Claus will all be a part of the annual Children’s Christmas Benefit on Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Orfordville American Legion.

The free event is a fundraiser to provide Christmas gifts and clothing for local children in need.

A lighted Christmas parade will start at 5 p.m. at Orfordville Elementary School, 408 W. Beloit St., and proceed to the American Legion, 3913 S. Highway 213.

For a parade entry and information, call (608) 289-2498, or email childrenschristmasbenefit@yahoo.com. Cash prizes will be awarded for lighted entries at 7 p.m. at the Legion.

The Rock County Pork Producers will sponsor an all-you-can-eat pork chop supper after the parade at about 6 p.m. The Rock County Farm Bureau, Rock County Beef Producers, Rock County Dairy Promotion Council and 4-H will provide fixings and treats.

Donations will be accepted for the free meal. Raffles will be held throughout the evening, and prizes will be given away.

The Stateline Playboys will provide entertainment from 8 p.m. to midnight.

All money raised will be used to buy hats, mittens, clothing, toys and supplies for children from birth to high school for Christmas and throughout the year. All toys and gifts are distributed discreetly and confidentially to kids to make their Christmas merrier.

To donate, call (608) 289-2498 or (608) 879-2213.
