— The UW-Rock County soccer team defeated Silver Lake College, 14-0, Monday to bring the curtain down on its regular season in a dazzling and historic fashion.

Besides scoring 14 goals for a nonconference victory, the Rattlers toasted Janesville Parker graduate Cinthia Tellez’s goal at 16 minutes of the first half.

“Cinthia is the first women to score a goal here since 2003, when I started coaching,” said Rattlers’ Grant McNall.

The Rattlers’ Isaac Mendoza and Jose Perez each scored a hatrick.

“Silver Lake is a first-year soccer program and it showed,” McNall said. “We tried to take it easy on them.”

Rock County concludes the regular season 8-1-1. The Rattlers host a Wisconsin Collegiate Conference playoff game at 1 p.m. Saturday.
