A tough economy doesn't appear to be keeping the the YMCA of Northern Rock County from raising money for renovations.

CEO Tom Den Boer says the final stage of a five-year capital campaign opened this week. The final phase included a renovation of the shower, sauna, and whirlpool areas. Den Boer estimates the membership growth during the campaign was 20-25%.

Efforts to grow the YMCA will continue. A new facility could be open in Milton by the end of next year.
