Town of Beloit talks about becoming a village

The Town of Beloit is talking, once again, about turning itself into a village. One town board member says he would like to see it happen yet this year. Kyle Geissler reports.

TOWN OF BELOIT — There is renewed talk about turning the Town of Beloit into a village.

Town board member Phil says previous efforts to incorporate have been hampered by various issues, including the numerous lawsuits facing the city.

Taber says the community would be protected from annexation and receive tax advantages from incorporation, among other benefits.

Taber says he would like to see incorporation underway by the end of the year. He says it's a good time to consider incorporation since the town board will soon be hiring a new administrator.
