The Janeville Fire Department is working this Labor Day.

Firefighters were called out to a vehicle fire, in the parking lot of an apartment building at 1811 Green Forest Run shortly after 3:30 a.m. Monday morning. Shift Commander Bill Ruchti says, not only did the fire threaten adjacent vehicles, the the fuel tank began to leak. Ruchti says firefighters doused the igniting fuel, but also had to limit contamination of water and fuel running into the storm sewer.

Firefighters were on the scene for close to three hours.
