Rock County stocks new flu vaccine for seniors
There might be no such thing as a routine flu season. The Rock County Health Department is preparing for the arrival of influenza, and it want's you to be prepared as well. Kyle Geissler reports.
Seniors have a new tool for fighting the flu.
Rock County Health Department Nursing Director Janet Zoellner says a new high-dose vaccine gives seniors over age 65 an added boost.
Zoellner says those over age 65 need an added boost of vaccine because of weakened immune systems.
Zoellner says there are no indications this year's flu season will be any worse than normal, but she says that can change. An average flu season claims 25,000 lives.
