Stateline United Way leaders aren't letting a down economy hold them back.

Campaign fund drive chair Ted Rehl announced this year's goal during a kick-off breakfast Wednesday at the Eclipse Center in Beloit. The goal this year is $1.5 million, a 3% increase over what was collected last year. Rehl says more than 67,000 were served in the stateline area through the United Way last year, and he says the need is growing.

Pacesetters have already helped raise 16% of this year's goal.
