Beloit Snappers cruise in the seventh

BELOIT — The Beloit Snappers buried the visiting Kane County Cougars with a five-run rally in the seventh inning Friday to post an 8-1 victory in Midwest League baseball.

Beloit let loose in the seventh sending 10 men to the plate and producing five runs on five hits, including Stephan Wickens’ two-run double. Eddie Rosario, Drew Leachman and Jairo Rodriguez each hit RBI singles.

Matt Tomshaw (3-2) allowed Kane County one run on three hits though the first seven innings to notch the victory.
