— Milton clinched its first Rock River League division baseball title with an 11-1 victory over visiting Farmington on Saturday night.

Milton finished the regular season with a 13-3 record to finish one game ahead of Janesville in the Southwest Division.

"That was our goal to win the division and get the automatic bid," said Doug Welch, manager of the Milton squad.

With the division title, Milton earns an automatic bid in the eight-team, double-elimination Grand Champion Tournament. Milton earns a bye and won't begin tournament play until Aug. 18 or 19.

Milton had 13 hits against Farmington (3-12). Joe Shere went 3-for-4, and Josh Shere went 2-for-4 including a booming home run to lead off the fourth.

Tom Scalissi and Tyler Allison each had a two-run single in the six-run third that put Milton ahead, 7-0.
