Emerald ash borer spreading in Walworth County
LAKE GENEVA Additional trees infested with the Emerald Ash Borer have been found in Walworth County.
According to a press release issued Friday by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, several infested trees were found near the 200 block of Edwards Road, about a mile from the site of an infestation detected earlier this summer.
Adult beetles also were found in two survey traps at Big Foot Beach State Park.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources’ Forest Health division made the discoveries. The DNR reminds people to help slow the spread of EAB by not moving firewood long distances.
