— The Orfordville Orioles cemented its first ever Home Talent League baseball sectional championship with a 9-0 victory over arch-rival Albion last Sunday.

Orfordville hosts Verona at 1 p.m. Sunday and Monona on Sept. 2 at the Beloit Youth Sports Complex in the round-robin tournament.

Joe Lange blanked the Tigers on one hit. Orfordville reached Albion for 10 hits with Ryan Schmitz and B.J. Cook notching three hits apiece.

The Orioles took a 3-0 lead in the first, scoring three runs on a walk and three hits, including Lange's RBI double.

Lange cruised in every inning except the fourth when he issued his lone walk and allowed Albion its lone hit to put runners on first and second. Lange coaxed a fly ball out and notched one of his 12 strikeouts to get out of the inning.
