— Jim Liebetrau survived a meltdown on the final nine Tuesday to win the Janesville Men's City Senior golf tournament by one-stroke over seven-time men's city golf champ Chris Pastore at Glen Erin Golf Club.

Liebetrau, 55, held a six-shot lead over Pastore after Monday's first round, carding a two-over-par 74 to Pastore's 80 at the Janesville Country Club. Liebetrau fired a closing round seven-over 78 to Pastore's two-over 73 to escape with the 36-hole championship.

Liebetrau has been a country club member for 25 years, while Pastore is a member of the Glen Erin men's club.

Liebetrau carded a 1-under 34 to open Tuesday's final round, but staggered on the back nine with four bogeys and two double bogeys for a 44 finish. Pastore went 35-38, posting bogeys on two of the last three holes.

"I guess the pressure got to me," said Liebetrau, who finished sixth last year and third in his first senior city tournament in 2010.
