Rittenhouse to join Arkansas Hall
FAYETTEVILLE, ARK. Jody Rittenhouse, a 1978 Janesville Craig graduate, will be inducted into the University of Arkansas Hall of Honor at a ceremony tonight.
A four-year letterwinner for the Razorbacks in both track and cross country, Rittenhouse was the school's first All-American in cross country in 1978. Rittenhouse dominated the mile run during her illustrious career, winning 10 race titles and finishing runner-up at the National Indoor Championships in 1979.
Rittenhouse concluded her career as a three-time All- American. She still holds the fifth-fastest 1,500-meter time in school history and is a member of the third-ranked all-time indoor mile relay team.
In her four seasons as a Razorback, Rittenhouse led the team to 70-33 record. She was part of an Arkansas team that qualified for its first national championship appearance in 1981, where it finished 16th in the nation.
