Since 2009 has the Obama admin been auditing the company use of the stimulus funds? That's over four years of using stimulus funds and you would think there would be inspections, audits, etc. Or does the govt just throw the money at the company and say, "See ya! ". Also of note is that many of the officers of the company are and were big Obama donors. I wonder why? So the taxpayers are out millions of dollars on this one.

donnaw_I keep hearing you and others talk about this 'left agenda'...what exactly do you mean by this? and how could the feds have known that A123 was going to be sold to a Chinese company in 2012 when they received the first half of the stimulus money back in 2009? not to mention the sale has to be approved by the CFIUS or it goes back up for bids...

Panama..sound a little like you are jealous of the wealthy! I said nothing about giving tax breaks to the wealthy would create jobs in the US. But I don't believe govt creates jobs either. At least they don't create sustaining jobs with stimulus money. By creating an environment that is business friendly, that encourages companies to hire is the way to go. Throwing stimulus money at unvetted companies by the administration in hopes it will work and satisfy the lefts agenda is a waste of taxpayer money, as has been shown many times over.

Whoa donnaw, no need to go off the deep end. You certainly are one angry person. Why do you hate 99% of Americans? The wealthy invest where they see an opportunity to make money. Whether its investing in Iran's nuclear program, like Tommy Thompson, or China's economy, the wealthy don't care whether companies violate human rights or contaminate the air and water - all they want is a good investment to make more money. China's economy has been the hottest investment out there since 2001. All your jabbering about a leftist agenda is silly. Are you really naive enough to believe giving tax breaks to the wealthy would create jobs in the U.S.?

panama..you can complain all you want about the 1% and what they LEGALLY do with their own money. It's the taxpayers money that Obama plays with to meet his leftist agenda that I am concerned with...your money and mine. And now Obama is responsible for sending money and jobs to China too, just like the 1% you hate so much.

Don't worry donnaw, your favorite group of Americans will benefit. The top 1%, after being granted generous tax breaks, have been creating jobs and growing China's economy which then provided China the money to buy US debt, which grew from giving the wealthy tax cuts.

We are also losing the jobs and even more scary, the battery technology this company was known for. And Obama is doing one of his campaign speeches today not far from this company's location. Ironic?

joker...you have to ask?
By the way, another so called green company, A123, that received $250 million in stimulus funds and declared bankruptcy, just sold its assets to China. Sweet deal for China! They loan us money so we can keep afloat, Obama gives stimulus funds to a company that later goes under and sells its assets to China. They get the company, we still owe them money plus interest, and we are out the stimulus money.
