Badger boys win battle of free throws

Free throws were the difference in the Southern Lakes Conference boys basketball game at Delavan-Darien on Thursday night.

Visiting Lake Geneva Badger made its free throws, while the host Comets missed many of theirs in a 61-50 Badger victory.

Badger connected on 20 of 23 free throws, while Delavan-Darien made just 5 of 15 in the loss.

Many of the misses came in the fourth quarter on front ends in bonus situations, after the Comets had cut a double-digit margin to six points.

Isaac Ramos scored 17 points for the Comets (2-6).
