Hundreds cited over weekend

A grant-funded focus on traffic violations netted more than 200 traffic citations over the weekend, according to a news release from the Rock County Sheriff's Office.
Agencies around the county issued 100 seat belt citations, 47 speeding tickets, 43 operating after revocation citations, 97 "other" traffic citations and 135 warnings, according to the news release. Police also made seven arrests on outstanding warrants and four drug arrests, according to the news release.
The Booze-N-Belts grant is a federal grant that pays for additional officers to patrol and watch specifically for traffic safety violations.
