Not guilty plea in fatal crash

JANESVILLE — A Brodhead man pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges that he killed a passenger when he crashed his vehicle while intoxicated driving.
Sean M. Waterman, 32, of 1113 S. Dickey Road, Brodhead, is charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, third-offense intoxicated driving and two counts of misdemeanor bail jumping.
Waterman had a blood-alcohol content of 0.29 after a Sept. 23 car crash on Highway 213 in the town of Spring Valley, according to court documents. A passenger in Waterman's vehicle, Douglas W. Axelson, 26, of Brodhead was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
Waterman posted a $1,300 bond in November, according to online court documents.
