UW-Rock County women collect win

— UW-Rock County marched to a 33-18 first-half lead and posted a 59-45 victory Wednesday over host UW-Fond du Lac in Wisconsin Collgiate Conference women’s basketball.

The Rattlers improved to 10-7 in the WCC and 11-12 overall.

Lindsay Oliver scored 13 of her game-high 23 points in the first half and teammate Melissa Harnack scored nine of her 14 points for Rock County.

Kiki Smith added 12 points and April Wellnitz chipped in 10 for the Rattlers. Wellnitz and Smith finished with double-doubles, grabbing 12 rebounds apiece.

Rock County men and women host UW-Barron at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. respectively, Saturday.

UW-Rock (59)—Oliver, 7-6-23; Harnack, 5-1-14; Wellnitz, 5-0-10; Smith, 4-3-12. Totals: 21-10-59.

UW-Fond du Lac (45)—Harasha, 3-0-7; King, 3-2-11; Liswoe, 2-0-4; Wochos, 3-2-8; Schneider 1-0-2; Tews 3-2-8; Bednar, 2-1-5. 18-7-45.
