Whitewater girls trounce Turner, Edgerton wins

Whitewater shut out host Beloit Turner in the second quarter helping the Whippets remain undefeated in the Rock Valley North girls basketball race.

The Whippets defeated the Trojans, 64-25, in a crossover game Tuesday night.

Whitewater went to 6-0 in the Rock Valley North and 9-1 overall.

The Whippets went out to a 21-5 lead in the first quarter, then extended the margin with a 14-0 advantage in the second quarter.

Brooke Trewyn scored 17 points to lead the Whippets. Molly Griep added nine points as 12 players scored in the victory.

Nicole Smith had eight points for Turner, which fell to 1-5 in the Rock Valley South and 1-8 overall.

-- Edgerton 58, Jefferson 40—The Crimson Tide raced out to an 11-point lead after one quarter and coasted to the Rock Valley North win.

Megan Johnson led Edgerton (8-2, 4-1) with 19 points, and Whitney Oren added 17.
