Illinois man arrested on charge of felony reckless injury

— An Illinois man has been arrested in connection with a Saturday hit and run incident.

Jason M. Ziemianin, 25, of 15569 Bombay Blvd., South Beloit, Ill., was arrested at 4:45 p.m. Monday on a charge of reckless injury by use of a dangerous weapon, according to a news release from the Milton Police Department.

Ziemianin is suspected of intentionally striking somebody twice with a motor vehicle Saturday morning after getting into an altercation with the individual, according to the release. The incident occurred at 2:30 a.m. Saturday in the area of Merchant Row and Crandall Street in Milton.

The victim was transported by Milton EMS to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville, where he was treated and released, according to the release.

Ziemianin was transported to the Rock County Jail, according to the release. He is scheduled to appear in court today.

The arrest was the result of an anonymous tip, according to the release. The investigation is ongoing.
