Robert Kordus has announced plans to run for Walworth County Register of Deeds in the fall election, according to a press release from his campaign office.

Kordus submitted 648 nomination signatures to the Walworth County Clerk on Friday. He faces Sue Finster, who has worked for Walworth County for 14 years, including time as clerk in the register of deeds office.

Connie Woolever, who has been the register of deeds in Walworth County since 1974, will retire when her term ends in January.

A lifelong resident of Wisconsin, Kordus has lived in Walworth County for four years. He is a senior program manager with CCG-Catalyst Consulting. He previously was vice president of deposit operations at First Banking Center (now Talmer Bank & Trust) and before that was founder and principal of the bank advisory consulting firm, Kordus Financial Services.

Kordus holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Carroll University in Waukesha. He and his wife, Annette, live in Lake Geneva.

Kordus holds membership in the Walworth County Republican Party, St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He also serves on the board of directors for the Pregnancy Helpline of Walworth County.
