Janesville man indicted on child porn charges

— A Janesville man on Thursday was indicted in federal court on charges of possession of child pornography.

Daniel J. Courtney, 23, of Janesville is accused of possessing a computer hard drive containing images of minors engaged in sexual acts, according to a copy of the indictment filed Thursday.

The charge is a result of an investigation by the FBI, according to a news release from the Wisconsin Department of Justice.

If convicted, Courtney could face a sentence of 10 years in federal prison, according to the release.
