Milton Raptors finish strong
HELENVILLE The visiting Milton Junction Pub Raptors bounced back from a four-run deficit to defeat Helenville, 13-5, Sunday in Rock River League baseball.
The Raptors are 8-2 and hold a one-game lead over the Madison Rockers for first place in the Southwest Division. Milton suffered an 8-2 loss to the Janesville Aces on Saturday at Riverside Park.
The Raptors trailed Helenville 5-1 after three innings, but reliever Joe Shere blanked Helenville from the fourth inning, posting nine strikeouts and walking none.
Joe Shere helped himself at the plate with a two-run homer, and brother Josh Shere added two RBI triples. The Raptors mauled Helenville with an 18-hit assault.
Milton travels to Johnson Creek for a 1:30 p.m. game Sunday.
