Whitewater Warhawks win regular-season finale
UW-Whitewater’s baseball team enters postseason play on a roll.
The Warhawks won their eighth straight game Tuesday with an 11-8 victory over Concordia Wisconsin in the regular-season finale for both teams.
Whitewater (27-13) plays UW-Stevens Point in the WIAC Tournament opener Friday.
Against Concordia (13-24), Whitewater fell behind 2-0 after one inning before erupting for nine runs in the second and third. Janesville Parker graduate Matt Beyer had two RBI for Whitewater, along with Jared Fon.
Whitewater was outhit, 15-10, but Concordia committed four errors leading to five unearned runs.
Aaron Leitner (3-2) got the win in relief.
