-- JERRY L. LEARNED, 47, of 2906 Kennedy Road, No. 1, Janesville, at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Janesville Police Department on second-degree sexual assault of a child. He allegedly inappropriately touched a girl he knew, according to police reports.
-- RAYCHL M. FIRKUS, 24, of 944 Nantucket Drive, Janesville, at 5:02 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, at 1900 Center Ave., Janesville, on possession of narcotic drugs.
Intoxicated driving arrests
-- CHRISTOPHER A. SOMMERS, 44, of 101 Head St., Edgerton, at 9:47 p.m. Tuesday, on Fulton Street just west of Newville Road, Edgerton. He also was cited for operating a vehicle without insurance.
-- JEFFREY J. LINDBERG, 44, of 48 Donna Ave., No. 5, Darien, second offense, at 3:19 a.m. Saturday after his pickup overturned when it missed a curve and slid down an embankment on County X just east of Carvers Rock Road, Clinton Township. He was also cited for driving too fast for conditions. He was transported to Beloit Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released.
-- INTERSTATE 90/39 offramp at mile marker 171, Highway 26, Janesville. At 5:19 p.m. May 13, a motorcycle driven by Dan P. Merritt, 30, 1132 Bennett St., Janesville, went off the road and into a ditch. Merritt and his passenger, Mary Ann Knudsen, 44, Milton, were taken to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville, where she was treated and released. Merritt requested no information on his condition be released. He was arrested on charges of causing injury to passenger and operating while intoxicated, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol. The crash remains under investigation.
-- COURT STREET AT GRANT AVENUE, JANESVILLE, at 6:26 p.m. Friday. A car driven by Ryan J. Snyder, 20, of 2117 S. Osborne Ave., Janesville, struck the rear of a pickup truck driven by Terry L. Hoffman, 41, of 213 N. Arch St., Janesville. Hoffman was treated and released at Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville. Snyder cited for following too closely.
-- POSSESSION OF WEAPON ON SCHOOL GROUNDS reported at 5 p.m. May 9 at Edison Middle School, 1649 S. Chatham St., Janesville. A 12-year-old boy was accused of possessing a multi-tool with a knife blade.
-- FAKE $20 BILL passed at Kwik Trip, 2518 W. Court St., Janesville, reported May 2.
-- CAR THEFT at 3416 W. County M in Fulton Township, reported May 8. Two women went to a bar, and one left with the car belonging to the other. The car is a purple-and-gray, two-door Chevrolet Cavalier valued at $1,600.
-- BURGLARY to Beverage Mart, 136 Merchant Row, Milton, reported at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Reported stolen was an undetermined amount of cash.
-- BURGLARY sometime late last week in the 9600 block of County A, Evansville, after someone entered a home and took a stove valued at $278.
-- BURGLARY reported May 11 of golf equipment valued at $6,619 from a garage in the 5500 block of North Robin Crest Drive, The owner said the last time he remembered seeing the equipment was in March.
-- GAS LEAK at the former Quality Wood Treating plant, 305 W. Burbank Ave., Janesville, from 10:45 until 11:45 a.m. Monday. Workers broke a gas meter or pipe during demolition work. Alliant Energy requested firefighters stand by while Alliant workers clamped off the line.
Intoxicated driving arrests
-- AARON SUMMERS, 23, Albany, at 2:18 p.m. Saturday at County E and Proverbs Pass Road, Albany Township, on a charge of operating while intoxicated with a passenger under the age of 16. He also was cited for operating a motor vehicle after suspension and operating a motor vehicle without proof of insurance.
-- W600 BLOCK OF TEN EYCK ROAD, DECATUR TOWNSHIP, at 7:56 p.m. Monday. A motorcycle driven by Jason A. Hauff, 43, Brodhead, was eastbound when the bike left the roadway, entered the north ditch and struck the embankment. Hauff was thrown from the vehicle. He was treated for minor leg and chest injuries at Monroe Clinic Hospital, Monroe. Hauff was cited for operating a motor vehicle while suspended.
-- W100 BLOCK OF HIGHWAY 11, DECATUR TOWNSHIP, at 9:33 a.m. Sunday. A vehicle driven by Velda Olson, 91, Brodhead, was westbound when she failed to stop at the stop sign at Highway 104, continued west and left the north side of the road, striking a road sign and embankment. The vehicle flipped, coming to rest on its roof. Olson was treated at Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville, but her condition was unavailable.For past public records, use the Public Record Calendar.
