— The top three staff members at the Lake Geneva YMCA are no longer employed by the organization.

Executive Director Joe Peyer, membership manager Pam Peyer and financial development director Amy Peterburs-Bittner are no longer listed on the organization’s website. In addition, the person who answered the phone at the Lake Geneva YMCA said the Peyers and Peterburs-Bittner no longer work there.

Pam Peyer is Joe’s wife.

YMCA board President Michael Plouch did not return repeated calls for comment, nor did Joe Peyer.

Peyer led the organizaiton’s efforts to upgrade its facilities in the mid 1990s, remodeling the interior, building a new pool and updating equipment.

In 2009, while still the director of the YMCA, he served as interim recreation director for the city of Delavan. At that time, he proposed having the Lake Geneva YMCA take over the city’s park and rec department. The city declined, and Peyer resigned the interim director post two weeks later.

Peyer was elected to the Delavan-Darien School Board in April.
