— A line of severe weather roared through southern Wisconsin on Monday night hitting Green County especially hard.

"We had easily 100 calls for trees and power lines blocking roads," said a Green County Sheriff's Department spokesman.

Despite the severity of the wind, no injuries were reported. A barn on a farm between Juda and Brodhead was taken down by high winds, the department reported.

The northwest part of Rock County was hit hard by the storm. The Rock County Sheriff's Office reported 36 calls for trees and power lines down in the county.

At 6 p.m., about 1,000 Alliant Energy customers were without power in the Rock/Green/Walworth counties area, Alliant spokesman Scott Reigstad said.

As of 11 p.m., crews still were working to restore power to about 300 customers in the area, including 90 each in Rock and Green counties and 20 in Walworth County, he said.

No reports of damage came out of the cities of Janesville or Beloit. The Janesville Fire Department had one call for a tree fire in Marquette Park.

Power outages aside, Walworth County escaped the severe weather. The sheriff's department in Elkhorn reported no calls for downed trees or power lines.
