DELAVAN--What it is: The former Horsemen Saddle & Harness building on the northeast corner of the Seventh Street and Wisconsin Avenue in Delavan is undergoing a total renovation. The project includes new utilities and a complete interior rebuild.

Owner John Cangelosi, who operates Dana Contractors in Chicago, said plans call for dividing the 30,000-square-foot building into three retail spaces.

Cangelosi is no stranger to Delavan. He has a home in Delavan where he lives four days a week. He also owns other commercial properties in the city.

What's the progress? Construction began in early October. The interior of the building has been gutted, and work is beginning on exterior changes and utilities.

Cost: Cangelosi said it's too early in the project to provide a cost estimate.

Completion date: Summer 2013.
