Madison West's nine 3s bury visiting Craig

— Madison West's boys basketball team was dialed in from long distance Thursday night.

The Regents made nine three-point baskets en route to a 65-55 Big Eight Conference win over visiting Janesville Craig.

Craig (2-2, 0-2) trailed by only four after three quarters but could not get even as West made six free throws down the stretch.

Malik Clemens had a game-high 20 points for West.

Junior guard Jerry Ngobi had 18 points to lead Craig, while Nolan Maresch had 11, including three three-point baskets.

Craig hosts Verona at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday in a Big Eight game.

Craig (55)—Ngobi, 7-2-18; Malmanger, 2-1-5; Maresch, 3-2-11; Schumacher, 1-0-2; Chang, 1-0-2; Foster, 1-6-8; Carlson, 1-0-2; Eden, 1-5-7. Totals: 17-16-55.

Three-point goals—Craig 5 (Maresch 3, Ngobi 2), West 9 (Pollard 4, McFadden 2, Clements 2, Kehl). Free throws missed—Craig 9, West 8. Total fouls—Craig 15, West 16.

Sophomores—Craig won.
