Craig, Parker lose Big Eight swim meets

Middleton won every event en route to a 132-38 victory over host Janesville Craig on Friday night in Big Eight Conference girls swimming.
“Middleton is one of the best teams in the state, hands down,” Craig coach Brian Kitzman said. “I don’t think anyone will touch them in the conference meet in a few weeks.”
Craig (2-5) was led by Cady Gansen, who was second in the 100 breaststroke and third in the 200 freestyle.
The Cougars’ Sierra Rhodes placed third in the 50 freestyle, Gretchen Quinn was third in the 500 freestyle, and Alexis Roach finished third in the 100 backstroke.
“I was proud of how they approached this meet,” Kitzman said of his swimmers. “It’s tough to go against one of the best teams in the state.”
Craig hosts Parker next Friday.
