Metso plans to hire in Beloit
BELOIT Metso Paper USA broke ground Monday on project that will add 8,000 square feet of manufacturing space and eight to 10 full-time jobs to its facility at 1280 Willowbrook Lane.
Metso is adding the production of doctor, coater and creping blades to the existing operations in Beloit, the next phase of its 2009 acquisition of the Pacific/Hoe Saw & Knife Company in Portland, Ore.
The products are used in papermaking processes.
The new manufacturing space is expected to open in May.
In a news release, Metso said the relocation of the product line would bring the manufacturing of these blades closer to Metso's customers in the United States and improve distribution to global end users. It also will complement existing production and improve the order fulfillment process.
Metso is a global supplier of technology and services to customers in the process industries, including mining, construction, pulp and paper, power, and oil and gas.
Its 30,000 employees are based in more than 50 countries.
