— Police have arrested a man in connection with a Sunday night robbery at a convenience store.

Janesville police said in a news release that Nathanial R. Johnson, 33, no known address, confessed to the crime Monday morning during an interview with Detective Erik Goth.

The robbery occurred at Stop-N-Go, 1604 E. Racine St., shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday. Police reported receiving several tips indicating Johnson committed the robbery.

Initial reports said a man with a shaved head and tear tattoos on his face gave the clerk a note that said "robbery" and was given cash from the register. He did not show a weapon but suggested he had one, police said.

Johnson was arrested on charges of robbery and parole violation.
