Snappers finish with victory
BELOIT The Beloit Snappers wrapped up the regular season Monday afternoon with a 6-1 Midwest League win over the Quad Cities River Bandits at Pohlman Field.
Beloit, which begins postseason play Wednesday at Clinton, put the game away with four runs in the bottom of the sixth. Miguel Sano hit his league-leading 26th home run in the victory.
David Hurlbut (6-6) earned the win, allowing one run over five innings.
Wang-Wei Lin went 2-for-4 for the Snappers, including a three-run homer in the sixth.
Beloit and Clinton open up a best-of-three series Wednesday night. Beloit hosts game two on Thursday and game three, if necessary, Friday night.
