Police: Driver used heroin before crashes
JANESVILLE A Deerfield man was arrested Tuesday after his vehicle was involved in two accidents on Center Avenue in Janesville.
Janesville police said a truck driven by Rolland S. Zibell, 21, struck another vehicle at State Street at 7:10 p.m. Zibell fled the scene, and his truck then struck a guardrail on the Center Avenue bridge and overturned, police said.
As he was being taken into custody, Zibell admitted to shooting up with heroin before the crashes, police said.
Zibell was transported to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, where he was treated and released into police custody.
He was arrested on charges of operating while intoxicated, possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless driving, operating after suspension and hit and run.
