Brodhead girls stay on cruise control
The beat goes on for Brodhead High's girls basketball team.
The second-ranked Cardinals opened up a 19-point halftime lead Thursday night and coasted to a 64-39 Rock Valley Conference crossover win over McFarland.
Brodhead improved to 16-0 on the season, including 11-0 in the Rock Valley South.
Rachel Heller had 15 points to lead Brodhead, which plays at unbeaten East Troy on Monday, Feb. 11 in a battle of unbeatens.

Sarah Schumacher and Brooke Trewyn combined for 35 points for Whitewater, which stayed a game and a half behind first-place East Troy.
Ally Mazur had 10 points to lead Big Foot.

Atchison led East Troy with 22 points, while Breanna Gaspervich added 18.
Mackenzie Williams had nine points to lead Turner.
