Second quarter downs Delavan-Darien girls

— Burlington High hammered Delavan-Darien 23-4 in the second quarter en route to a 52-42 victory Monday in Southern Lakes Conference girls basketball.

The Demons bombed the Comets with four three-pointers in the second quarter to take a 31-16 lead at the half.

Delavan-Darien is 2-16 overall and 1-10 in the Southern Lakes. Burlington is 4-13 and 2-9.

Amanda McLernon scored 15 points for the Comets. Jenn Stevens scored 10 points for Burlington.
