McFarland girls get past visiting Big Foot

McFarland used a big second quarter to jump out to a 41-20 lead by halftime and rolled to a 66-39 Rock Valley crossover girls basketball victory over Big Foot on Monday night.

Stevie Winer led four McFarland players in double figures with 14 points. Maddie Hettinger added 12 while Christine Hettinger and Rosie Runde each pitched in 11.

Morgan Courier led the Chiefs—who fell to 4-16 overall—with a dozen points, while Molly Kovarik added 10.

-- Burlington 50, Delavan-Darien 24—Anna Vogt scored seven of her game-high 12 points in the first half as the Burlington girls basketball team jumped out to a 28-12 lead in Southern Lakes play Monday night.

Ten different players scored for Burlington, which improved to 3-9 in conference and 5-13 overall.

Amanda McLemon led the Comets, who fell to 1-11 and 2-17, with seven points.

-- Black Hawk 49, Parkview 37—The Black Hawk girls basketball team sunk 15 of 19 free throws, widening the gap in the third quarter on its way to a nonconference victory over Parkview.

Mikayla Strzok and Sara Kearns each scored eight points for the Vikings, who fell to 5-14 overall.
