Red Hawk girls survive scare from Monroe

Milton sunk a free throw with one second left in regulation to send the game to overtime, where the Red Hawks outscored Monroe 12-5 for a regular season-ending road win in the Badger South.

The Red Hawks scored on each of their first three possessions in overtime, then sealed the victory with six free throws.

Morgan Blumer led Milton with 22 points while Elizabeth Westrick pitched in 14.

Taylor Barrett, playing in her first game since early January, paced the Cheesemakers with 13 points.

Milton opens Division 2 state tournament action next Friday, hosting Waterford in a regional semifinal. Monroe travels to Mount Horeb on Tuesday.
