Friday traffic accident yields felony charges
JANESVILLE A Janesville man was arrested on felony charges after he was involved in a drunken-driving accident, according to a news release from the Janesville Police Department.
Casey Truman, 26, of 1530 Highland Ave., Janesville was arrested on charges of operating while intoxicated, causing injury to a passenger under 16 years old, violation of child safety restraint, speed too fast for conditions and prohibited alcohol concentration, the news release said.
At 4:26 p.m. Friday, Janesville officers responded to a report of an intoxicated male with a 7-year-old boy at Riders In, 721 Center Ave., Janesville.
Officers could not locate the man at the bar. A short time later, they were dispatched to an accident at Pine Street and Linden Avenue. Truman was one of the drivers at the scene, and officers discovered he was the individual from Riders In. Truman’s blood alcohol level was 0.16, twice Wisconsin’s legal limit.
The boy, who police identified as Truman’s son, was treated and released from Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville. He was released to a responsible adult.
Truman is being held at the Rock County Jail.
