Cramer, Villa, defense lead Craig girls to victory
MADISON Craig High held host Madison Memorial to single digits in three quarters to post a 44-30 victory Thursday in Big Eight Conference girls basketball.
"We had good focus on defense," Craig coach Kerry Storbakken said. "We held them to six in the first quarter and then five and eight in the second half."
Sydney Cramer and Katie Villa scored 13 points apiece for Craig. Villa added 12 rebounds to complete a double-double.
Cramer, a 5-4 sophomore guard, has scored in double figures the last four games since she was inserted as a starter at the Optimist Classic Tournament.
"Cramer has led us the last four games," Storbakken said. "She gets more confidence with each game."
