Whitewater, East Troy girls win to set up showdown
Whitewater High remained perfect on the season and in the Rock Valley North with a 60-34 girls basketball victory over host Evansville on Thursday night.
The Whippets improved to 10-0 overall and 6-0 in the Rock North after pulling away from a 16-12 first-quarter advantage. Whitewater plays East Troy (6-0) in a battle for first-place Tuesday on the Whippets' court.
Junior guard Brooke Trewyn led the Whippets with 19 points. Dani Dolan added 11.
Evansville, which hadn't played since Dec. 14, fell to 2-4 in the league and 3-6 overall.
Senior captain Kayla Klitzman led the Blue Devils with 15 points.

The Trojans (6-0 in the Rock North, 9-0 overall) led, 32-23, going into the final quarter and didn't allow Jefferson a chance to get back in it.
Rachel Atchison scored 17 points, and Breanna Gaspervich added 16 for East Troy.
Macy Graf led Jefferson (2-4, 3-5) with 13 points, while Katy Heine added 10.
