Leisten's two firsts not enough for Parker gymnasts

Hailey Leisten won two events, but Janesville Parker's gymnastics team came up short Thursday night in a Big Eight Conference dual meet.

Middleton, behind Bianca Bakkar, finished with a 133.20 total. Parker totaled 118.575.

"Other then struggling on the uneven bars, we had a pretty good meet," Parker coach Cathy Lehmann said. "Hailey continues to have a real strong year for us."

Leisten, a junior, won the floor exercise and tied for first with Bakkar on balance beam.

Balance beam—1. Leisten (P) and Bakkar (M), 8.90; 3. Dana Silckinger (M), 8.3; 4. Bergenthal (M), 8.2.

Floor exercise—1. Leisten (P), 8.775; 2. Bakkar (M), 8.675; 3. Bergenthal (M), 8.625; 4. Marshall (M), 8.30.

All-around—1. Bakkar (M), 35.5; ; 2. Bergenthal (M), 33.625; 3. Leisten (P), 32.125.
