Truck on Ice raffle tickets to go on sale Thursday
JANESVILLE — Ticket sales for the Blackhawk Golden Kiwanis Club's Truck On Ice fundraiser will start Thursday and continue through Saturday, Feb. 9.
The raffle involves selecting the date and time the club's special Chevrolet Suburban shell sinks through the ice into the Traxler Park lagoon. The Suburban will be placed on the ice after the city park's department determines the ice is safe.
Meanwhile, the vehicle will be displayed at various locations around town.
Raffle tickets cost $10 for three or $20 for eight and can be purchased in Janesville at Davis Citgo, 45 E. Racine St.; Mac's Pizza Shack, 2307 Milton Ave.; My Apartment Pub & Grill, 15 N. Arch St.; the Educational Employees Credit Union, 2330 Kennedy Road or from any Blackhawk Golden K member.
Club members will sell tickets on these dates at these Janesville locations:
-- Thursday through Saturday, Jan. 17-19, at Pick 'n Save, 1717 Center Ave.
-- Thursday through Saturday, Jan. 24-26, Sentry Food Store, 2501 W. Court St.
-- Friday and Saturday, Jan. 25-26, at Lions Quick Mart, 2615 Milton Ave.
-- Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 28-29, at the Janesville Athletic Club, 1301 Black Bridge Road.
-- Thursday through Saturday, Jan. 31-Feb. 2, at Blackhawk Community Credit Union, 2704 E. Milwaukee St.
-- Thursday through Saturday, Jan. 31-Feb. 2, at Lions Quick Mart, corner of Highways 14 and 51.
-- Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 7-9, at Blackhawk Community Credit Union, 2640 W. Court St.
-- Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 7-9, at Sentry Foods, 2822 E. Milwaukee St.
Proceeds support youth in the Janesville area through scholarships to students at Craig and Parker high schools, Blackhawk Technical College, UW Rock County and grants to Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4-H, Family Respite Care, ECHO and the Salvation Army.
Since 2003, this event has raised a total of $100,000.

I predict they wont even get it on the ice this year. Seems like it fell in very early last February before ticket sales were over. Crazy weather.

Maybe it's too late in the evening and I'm missing it, but does this article say anything about the winnings for the winner?
