First-half run sparks Rattlers
A big first half carried UW-Rock County's women's basketball team to victory Wednesday night.
The Rattlers used a 21-1 run midway through the first half to pull away for a 81-58 win over UW-Washington in a Wisconsin Collegiate Conference game.
Rock County (11-8, 10-5) had five players score in double figures, led by Evansville High graduate Leeanna Kinney's 19.
"We really played well from about the midway point of the first half on," Rock County coach Scott Lee said. "We got Julia Dement back in the lineup tonight and that made a big difference. She really ran the show well for us.
"And with five players in double figures, that's the kind of balance we're going to need if we're going to continue to have success."
Rock County plays the UW-Whitewater junior varsity team today.
