Maynard, thanks for the heads up I will catch that online, I agree with the chiefs, the mental health issue is huge and is not only a catalyst for the mass shootings but many other things. I think Kerry is a good pick for Sec of State, I think that is a great spot for him, very qualified and smart guy.

On #1 gun control: Watched Piers Morgan the other night when he had the police chiefs on from 3 of the cities that mass shootings took place on. If you have watched him, you know he is very anti-gun. He became increasingly frustrated when all 3 chiefs said that more gun controls would not stop those types of events. That the existing laws need to be enforced. All 3 emphasized the need to address the mental health issues as the root cause. A later guest was silenced quickly when they pointed out that, despite all the gun deaths in the U.S.A., the USA was not even in the top 10 countries for percent of violent crimes. See here that Diane Feinstein is going to have her own hearing because she thinks the deck is stacked so wants to play with her own deck. Wish they would first and foremost address the mental health situation in this country, second enforce all the current laws, and third go with universal background checks. But without the 1st one, anything else really does not matter. IMHO
