East Troy girls top Kettle Moraine Lutheran, 62-58

MILWAUKEE — Rachel Atchison isn’t cooling down.

East Troy High’s prolific 3-point shooter buried seven shots from beyond the arc, including three in a decisive fourth quarter, and the Trojans topped Kettle Moraine Lutheran 62-58 in a WIAA Division 3 sectional semifinal at Milwaukee Marquette High School.

Atchison, who has now made 80 3-point shots this season, finished with a game-high 25 points. Breanna Gaspervich added 22, going 12 of 14 from the free-throw line.

The two teams were tied, 43-43, after three quarters, but Atchison was only just heating up.

East Troy went 17 of 22 from the foul line on the game.

The loss ended a 21-game winning streak for Kettle Moraine Lutheran, which began the year 0-3. The Trojans improved to 24-1 and will attempt to earn their second consecutive state berth when they face Oostburg (21-4) in the sectional final at noon on Saturday at Arrowhead.
